Canal Crawl 5K Run/Walk
Registration & Packet Pickup 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. day of race. Race start 8 a.m. Sharp! Entry Fee before Aug. 25. $10. After Aug. 25 and day of race $15. Various age brackets. Fishing Derby
Catch & Release
Registration 8:30 a.m. Centennial Park, 510 E. 11th St., Rock Falls. Start 9 a.m. Finish at 10:30 a.m. Free to children age 6-15 years. Awards presented at 10:30 a.m. No license required. Bring your poles and join the fun. Bait provided by Schreiner Oil Company/Bait Shop. Event organized by Rock Falls Optimist Club.
Hydro Plant Open House
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 817 E. Second St., Rock Falls. Tour the Hydro Plant and see how it runs and provides energy to Rock Falls residents. Refreshments will be served.

Book Signing
Rock Falls Library, 1007 7th Ave., and Little Red School House at Centennial Park. Times to be announced. Authored by Betty Marchon.
Montreal Canoe Rides
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lock & Dam, 816. E. Second St., Rock Falls. Free. Event organized by Rock River Development Authority and Illinois Department of Natural Resouces.
Historical Display
10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Little Red School House, Centennial Park, 510 E. 11th St., Rock Falls. Sterling Rock Falls Historical Society will have a collection of Canal memorabilia available and on display during this 100th Anniversary Celebration. Post cards from this event will be on sale.
Civil War Family/Historians/Canal Reenactors
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lock & Dam, 817 E. Second St., Rock Falls. Civil War family will be shooting their cannon during the ribbon cutting celebration as well as strolling the Canal pathway.
Band Concert & Ice Cream Social
12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Lock & Dam, 817 E. Second St., Rock Falls. Music provided by the Rock Falls High School Band.
Color Guard
1:15 p.m. Lock & Dam, 816 E. Second St., Rock Falls.
Welcome/Introductions
1:30 p.m. 816 E. Second St., Rock Falls. Ribbon Cutting, program, dignitaries. Cannon shot and releasing of doves. Cake and ice cream to celebrate the 100th birthday of the Hennepin Canal.
Canoe Races
2 p.m. Nims Park, Ave. E and E. Third St., Rock Falls. Join in the fun and see who challenges who. Canoes and life vests provided.
Lighted Boat Parade
Dusk on the Rock River. Viewing from Arduini Boat Launch, Hydro Plant. E. Second St., Rock Falls. Entry forms at Rock Falls Chamber office, 601 W. 10th St., Rock Falls.
